Bird Rescue
Most of my birds have been rescued. Yago, Scar, Mr Pretty Bird, Pepsi, Spree, Chessa and Elliot. Not all of them had difficult former homes. Some owners just could no longer take good care of their pet for one reson or another. Sometimes birds will not get along with the rest of the flock and need to find a new situation that is better for them.
If you would like to rescue a bird, read these links below for idea on what to do. So many animals lives are at the whim of their owners, living in horrific conditions. And many other birds have come into homes that may have fallen on economic hardship, or who are moving and cannot take their pet along with them. It is an excellent thing to help these animals live a life they deserve! HOWEVER, owning a parrot is a huge commitment that should not be taken lightly. They require time and energy. Not all parrots will learn to talk, not all of them will be naturally charming. Parrots often outlive their owners. Read the resources from these websites to understand more about what is involved in adopting and caring for an exotic bird.
